Everything you need to set up your account and find your way around.
Barota is a global community platform. It's a place to share posts, join community Hubs, shop, find jobs, hire help, book appointments, fundraise, and much more — all in one app.
Anyone can join Barota — sign in with your phone number and follow the short onboarding steps. If a friend shared their personal link with you, open it and tap Join Barota; they'll be credited as the person who referred you.
Share your personal link with friends. When they join through your link you are credited as their referrer. Your link is permanent — it never expires and there is no limit on how many people can join through it. Find it in Settings → Share Barota, then tap Copy link or Share.
Down the side of the screen you'll find:
Below that is Discover (Shop, Events, Jobs, Hire, Fundraise, Nearby) and Create & Earn, where you can turn on selling, hosting events, and more.
Barota is built for 31 languages. Go to Settings → Language and pick yours — the whole app switches instantly, including right-to-left languages like Urdu and Arabic.
How do I follow someone? Open their profile and tap Follow.
What are Hubs? Community groups — for a town, cause, temple, business or interest. Join the ones you like.
How do I post something? Tap the + Create post button at the top or in the sidebar.
Is Barota free? Yes — using Barota is free. Some extras (selling fees, promotions, subscriptions) have costs, always shown up front.
The first time you visit Barota you'll see a short cookie notice at the bottom of the screen. Barota only uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and the platform working. Barota does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and your data is never sold. Tap Got it to dismiss the notice.
Barota is open to adults 18 and over in most of the world, and age is verified rather than self-declared. For legal and sanctions-compliance reasons, Barota is not currently available in a small number of countries. If Barota is not available where you are, you will see a message when you try to sign up and you will not be able to create an account.
/about./contact./status.Right after you finish onboarding, Barota offers a one-time Find people you know step. If you choose Allow access to contacts, Barota checks your phone contacts against people already on Barota and shows you any matches so you can follow or connect. Barota never stores your contacts — the check happens once and the numbers are not saved. This works on mobile browsers; on desktop you can find people from the Explore page instead. You can always tap Skip for now, and the step is only ever shown once.
Barota is free to join and free to take part in. Reading, watching, applying to jobs, attending events, buying, following and messaging never cost anything.
Some tools to create and earn are separate subscriptions, and each one is its own plan:
Your account type and your subscriptions are separate: for example a business account still needs the Jobs subscription to post jobs. See every plan and price under Subscriptions. Founder accounts include everything with Founder access.
