Transparency reports

A regular, public account of how we moderate and protect.

A regular, public account of how we moderate and protect.

Barota publishes transparency reports so you can see how we enforce our rules. The reports are public and do not identify individual members.

What we publish

Each report covers one quarter and counts that quarter only:

  • The number of reports we received, and how many we acted on
  • Our median response time: how long a report waited for a person to look at it
  • How much content we removed
  • How many accounts we suspended, and how many we removed
  • How many Barota Council issues were raised and resolved
  • How many valid requests we received from law enforcement
  • How much data we sold, which is none, and always will be

How often

We publish every quarter, once the quarter has ended, whether the numbers are good or bad. Reports appear in the Safety Centre and at barota.co/transparency.

Decisions about you

Whenever Barota restricts your account or removes or refuses something you posted, you get a statement of reasons: what was decided, the rule it was under, whether it was decided automatically, and how to challenge it. You can read yours in Settings → Safety.

Why it matters

Publishing these numbers keeps us accountable and shows that our safety rules are applied, not just written down. It also helps the community and the Safety Council spot trends and push for improvements.

Law enforcement

Barota cooperates with valid legal process from any jurisdiction. We only act on properly authorised requests, and we record the totals in these reports. If you have experienced a crime involving Barota, contact safety@barota.co.
