Coercion protection is for when someone is pressuring, controlling or watching you. You can turn it on or off in Settings → Safety at any time.
While it is on, Safety Check comes first in every conversation, so it is one tap away. Other protections apply as each feature arrives on Barota.
The people you talk to see no change. Everyone has a Safety Check button in their conversations; yours is labelled and comes first.
Nobody is told you turned it on, and no Barota screen or staff tool shows it. Barota keeps it in a form that cannot be listed or searched, and it is not in your data download. Turning it off removes it, and so does deleting your account.
Call your local emergency number. Helplines for your country are in the Safety Centre.
