Journalism is not a licensed profession on Barota, so it is not checked as a credential.
Once a credential is checked, or its document is stored, Barota asks whether to show it on your profile and posts. Nothing is chosen for you: you pick Show or Keep private, and you can change it at any time. A private credential is visible only to you.
If you show a checked credential and write about health, your posts carry "Verification of registration, not the accuracy of this post." instead of the usual medical disclaimer. Your registration is checked; what you post is your own.
A credential check is paid for by the professional being checked, never by Barota. It is not open yet. Nothing can be submitted or charged until the price is published.
Your document is stored privately. Only you and Barota's Verification team can open it, and every opening is logged. It is deleted 30 days after the credential is withdrawn, lapses or is refused.
If the Verification team could not confirm your credential, their reason is in Your checks. To report a credential badge you think is wrong, use Report on that profile, or contact support.
