Hub Terms

Version 1.0 · Effective 24 September 2026 · Barota Ltd

1. Who this applies to

Anyone creating or administering a Hub on Barota.

2. Hub types

Places of worship and registered charities globally are permanently free. Commercial Hubs, educational institutions and professional networks pay the Hub Standard subscription.

3. Charity verification

A registered charity number from any country's charity register is required, verified by an admin within 48 hours. Misrepresentation of charity status to obtain a free Hub is fraud and will be reported to relevant authorities.

3a. Representing a real institution

A Hub that says it represents a real institution, such as a school, place of worship, charity or association, can show it. Its admin proves they may represent the institution: by entering a code sent to their email at the institution's own domain, with a letter of authorisation, or with a registration document. Barota's Verification team checks it against a register where one exists. The Hub's page then shows exactly what was checked, for example “Email Confirmed [date]”, or “Registration Document Submitted” where a document was stored and not checked. Only the email domain is kept, never the address. This check is not open yet: nothing can be submitted or charged until its price is published. A badge is not a guarantee of how a Hub is run.

4. Hub owner responsibilities

Enforce the Community Guidelines within your Hub, moderate Hub content, respond to safety reports within 24 hours, maintain accurate Hub information, and not use the Hub for prohibited activities.

5. Prohibited Hub activities

Facilitating illegal activity, recruiting for harmful organisations, selling prohibited items, spreading coordinated misinformation, and impersonating official organisations.

6. Hub sponsorship

Commercial sponsorship must be clearly disclosed to Hub members with a "Sponsored" label. Undisclosed sponsorship is a breach of these Terms and of the CAP Code.

7. Hub data

Barota owns the platform infrastructure. Hub owners do not own member data. Member data is governed by Barota's Privacy Policy.

8. Suspension and removal

Barota may suspend or remove Hubs that breach these Terms without notice in cases of serious violations. Notice will be given for minor violations.

9. Liability

Hub owners are responsible for their Hub community and any harm arising from inadequate moderation. Barota is not liable for content posted within Hubs.
